Bingo halls receiving boost from online promotions.
An industry expert believes that traditional bingo halls could be benefiting from the growth in advertising for online versions of the game.Paul Talboys, chief executive of the Bingo Association, said that increased advertising for online bingo services has raised awareness of land-based venues among gaming fans.
He spoke of the "synergies" between online and land-based bingo as a potential area for future development in the UK bingo industry.
"With the proliferation of online bingo advertising on TV, the product is in front of everybody all the time," Mr Talboys explained.
"Quite often, unless you already play bingo, you won't make the distinction between an online TV advert and a terrestrial TV advert. I think that does stimulate some interest," he added.
Online bingo operator Tombola has announced plans to create 60 new jobs at its headquarters in Sunderland due to growing demand for bingo on the internet, the Northern Echo reports.
