London Bingo Player Hits Jackpot

Big win for Londoner at bingo venue.

A 62-year-old woman from south-east London is celebrating this week after winning almost £45,000 on a bingo game.

The unidentified Bexleyheath resident hit the High 5 jackpot at her local Gala Bingo venue last Thursday (January 8th) to pocket £44,958.59, the Bexley Times reports.

She claimed that the size of the bingo prize had left her "in absolute shock".

"I'm a very loyal bingo player but have never even dreamed of winning anything like this," she told the local newspaper.

The lucky winner, who has sixteen grandchildren, added: "I've got a very large family … so this is a chance for me to give something back to them."

Gala Bingo operates over 175 venues for the numbers game and has more than five million members in the UK.

The firm recently launched Mrs Obama's Bingo, a special game which was developed in association with Kezia Obama, a Bracknell bingo fan who is also the stepmother of the new US president.
