Poker stars expected to take part in special tournament.
The Royal Surrey Club, a poker venue in south-west London, has announced details of a special tournament to celebrate the first anniversary of its launch.Taking place on Saturday evening (January 17th), the £100+£50 semi-freezeout event comes with a prize pool which has been boosted from £5,000 to £7,000 due to demand, bluffeurope.com reports.
Resident pros at the Morden club Jimmy White and Liv Boeree are expected to be in attendance on Saturday, while World Series of Poker bracelet winner Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott is also due to make an appearance.
A spokesperson for the venue told the poker website that it is "expecting a few other surprise well-known faces to turn up as guests" at the tournament, which carries an entrance fee of £10.
Formerly a snooker hall, the Royal Surrey Club was re-launched as a venue for snooker and poker in 2007. It contains ten poker tables, with tournaments taking place six days a week.
