Appeal of bingo explained by industry expert.
An expert on internet gaming has claimed that much of the appeal of online bingo lies in its sense of community.Ravi Virpal, director of Bullet Business, said that internet bingo operators follow "the land-based model" of the numbers game, whereby people take part not only to win prizes but also to socialise.
In the same way, online bingo firms encourage people to interact with their fellow players through chat rooms and special promotions.

"While online bingo attracts all sorts of people from all age ranges and demographics, it still has that community feel," Mr Virpal explained.
Asked to compare the growth of internet bingo services with online poker, Mr Virpal described them as two "very different products" which are "comfortably sharing the same space".
"[Bingo is] not generating the same levels of income as poker yet, but having said that bingo is not too far behind," he added.
Bullet Business is hosting the fourth annual Online Bingo Summit, which takes place in London on June 16th and 17th.
