If you’re a soap opera fan, you now have even more chances to watch your favourite actors in action. If you’re one of the people who finds soap operas rather dull – sorry, but even playing bingo, you can’t escape them now!
ITV Bingo has created two new bingo rooms. One dedicated to Coronation Street, and the other to Emmerdale. So soap fans can enjoy a soap twist to their favourite hobby.
Instead of using the traditional bingo calls, the new rooms have new topical calls. So number nine is “Betty’s hot pot with wine”, and number 25 is “Zoe’s institutionalized”. Number 53 is “Trisha crushed by a chimney.” I wonder if they will update the calls to keep up to date with the ever progressing plots.
William Van Rest, controller of ITV Play commented "When we designed these rooms we knew we were combining two of the nation's great loves, soaps and bingo, but we never imagined it would spark a change in the fundamentals of the game.
"Countless players have been chatting to each other in the Emmerdale and Coronation Street branded rooms, not just about the action on screen but also trying to come up with new bingo calls related to the soaps."
