Cumbria bingo venue hands out fourth big jackpot in 12 months.
Opera Bingo in Whitehaven has awarded a national prize to one of its members for the fourth time in under a year.An unidentified woman from the Cumbria town scooped nearly £25,000 at the venue last week after calling house in 45 numbers, the News & Star reports.
She is the fourth big winner in less than 12 months at the Whitehaven club, with one unidentified player taking home £16,000 in November and another bingo fan pocketing nearly £22,000 in December.
Jennifer McGrady, manager at Opera Bingo in Whitehaven, described the latest jackpot as "fantastic news".
She told the local newspaper: "It's very exciting when you have a big national game win in the club, but to have so many winners in such a short space of time is incredible."
Opera Bingo's three venues the firm also has clubs in Workington and Penrith have paid out nearly £150,000 to seven major jackpot winners in the last year.
A Scottish woman recently won £28,000 at the Carlton Bingo club in East Kilbride, where she was celebrating Burns Night.
