Lady Cobham to leave role as BCA chairman before April.
The British Casino Association (BCA) is on the lookout for a new chairman following Lady Cobham's decision to stand down from the position.Lady Cobham will leave her role at the BCA this spring after agreeing to start as the chairman of tourism organisation VisitEngland in April, the Times reports.
According to the newspaper, the BCA has claimed that her exit has no connection to the recent departures of high-profile gambling firms Gala Coral and Rank, who have both decided to leave the association.
Lady Cobham was appointed chairman of the BCA in 1999 and selected for a further two-year term in April 2007.
Formed in 1973, the BCA is the leading trade association for the UK casino industry and its members operate over 90 per cent of the country's licensed gambling venues.
