Victoria Coren says poker pros play too loosely in Channel 4 series.
Victoria Coren has urged viewers of the latest PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker series on Channel 4 not to emulate the tactics of the participants in their own games.Writing in her column for the Guardian today (February 12th), the poker expert claims that many of the professionals in the current series are guilty of severe misjudgements at the table.
Although admitting that Premier League Poker includes some of the top players in the world - Phil Hellmuth is described as "a poker genius" and Tom Dwan "a phenomenon" Coren believes that many of them pay the price for reckless strategies.
She explains: "They hare out of the traps too fast, pushing weak hands early.
"The crazy approach is great to watch, along with the banter, but do not copy these poker celebs. In fact, do the opposite."
Coren won the European Poker Tour London event in 2006 and is a member of Team PokerStars.
