Scandinavian poker players honoured at industry event in Denmark.
Peter Eastgate's recent achievements have been recognised with two accolades at the Scandinavian Poker Awards.The 22-year-old Dane took the awards for rookie of the year and best performance of the year at the ceremony in Copenhagen on Tuesday night (February 16th).
Eastgate pocketed over $9 million (£6.3 million) at the World Series of Poker in November, when he become the youngest ever player to win the main event at the prestigious Las Vegas poker tournament.
Finland's Patrik Antonius was named best live player at the Copenhagen awards ceremony, while Ilari Sahamies, another Finn, took the award for best online player.
Meanwhile, Magdalena In de Betou of Sweden received the award for best female player. She was presented with her gong by Danish poker legend Gus Hansen.
Hosted by PokerStars, the Scandinavian Poker Awards took place on the eve of the European Poker Tour's (EPT) Copenhagen event, which is running until February 21st at the Danish capital's Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel.
