Big poker tournament prize for Finnish player in Estonia.
Finland's Johanna Pyysing has won the first leg of the European Masters of Poker Series in Tallinn.The Scandinavian poker ace outlasted a field of 248 players and beat Bjorn-Erik Glenne of Norway in heads-up play to claim the 69,400 (£61,740) first prize in the Estonian capital.
Glenne, a former European Poker Tour (EPT) event winner, took home 44,640 for second place and former chess prodigy Jeff Sarwar of Canada pocketed 29,760 for finishing third.
The next European Masters of Poker event will take place in Varna, Bulgaria from April 15th to 18th.
Pyysing is not the first Finn to win a major poker prize this month, with Helsinki teenager Jens Kyllonen taking down the EPT Copenhagen event last week.
The 19-year-old beat Sweden's Peter Hedlund in a heads-up battle in Denmark to win 878,057 and secure a place at the EPT grand final in Monte Carlo later this year.
