Gala Coral planning to launch new organisation for casino industry.
Gala Coral has explained its reasons for withdrawing from the British Casino Association (BCA) and setting up a new trade body for the British gambling industry. The gaming firm recently left the BCA and is working on plans to establish a "single national gambling association", which it hopes will better reflect the challenges currently facing casino operators.
A spokesperson for Gala Coral explained that the passing of the Gambling Act and the creation of the Gambling Commission has led to a new set of circumstances that require a new association.
"There are lots of strategic issues that affect the whole of the industry, for example social responsibility," he said.
"We think issues like that are best served with the establishment of a single trade association."
Gala Coral, which was formed with the merger of Gala Group and Coral Eurobet in 2005, operates 27 casinos and over 150 bingo venues.
