Opera Bingo celebrates another big jackpot in Penrith.
A Cumbria woman is preparing to splash the cash after picking up a £23,600 jackpot at her local bingo hall.Joyce Martin completed a full house in 43 numbers to scoop the money at the Opera Bingo club in Penrith on Wednesday (March 11th), the News & Star reports.
A regular player at the venue, Ms Martin told the newspaper that she intends to enjoy her windfall rather than saving it for a rainy day.
The 62-year-old from Keswick said: "I'm going to spend it, because it's money I didn't think I would have.
"I'll treat my daughter and son, but I haven't really thought about what I'll spend it on yet."
Ms Martin's jackpot is the sixth National Game prize won at one of Opera Bingo's three venues since November 2008.
"Our three clubs are certainly having a run of luck with big cash prizes," commented Ethel Nicholls, manager at the Penrith club.
The other two Opera Bingo venues are located in Workington and Whitehaven.
