Manager Moyes took Everton players for casino games in London.
A surprise visit to a London casino helped Everton to get back on track after a disappointing start to the season, it has been claimed.David Moyes' side are currently sixth in the Premier League, but struggled to find their form in the early stages of the campaign, when they were knocked out of the Uefa Cup by Belgian side Standard Liege.
After watching his side lost 1-0 to Wigan Athletic on November 24th, Moyes decided that his squad could benefit from a break in their routine, the Daily Mail reports.
The manager decided to take his players to exclusive Mayfair gambling venue Les Ambassadeurs before their next game at Tottenham Hotspur.
"A change of scenery and change of tack helps you refocus on what you have to do and what you're brought together as a squad to do," Everton midfielder Leon Osman explained.
"It was obviously the right thing for the manager because we played really well."
The following day, Everton beat Spurs 1-0 and have gone on to climb the Premier League table as well as reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Offering spectacular views of Hyde Park from its main gaming room, Les Ambassadeurs provides roulette, blackjack, stud poker and baccarat facilities.
