GUKPT London begins with £2,500 heads-up poker tournament.
Some of the UK's top poker players are in London this week for the third leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT).Taking place at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in Edgware Road, the 11-day festival kicks off today (March 19th) with the £2,500 London Heads-Up Championship.
The 16-man field for the heads-up event is now confirmed, with players such as Barny Boatman, Neil Channing, Jeff Duvall and Surinder Sunar set to battle it out for the heads-up crown.

As well as a first prize of £20,000, the winner of the tournament will also earn a seat at the £100,000 GUKPT Champion of Champions event, taking place in Luton later this year.
The festival will continue with a series of side events before the £1,500 main event gets underway on March 26th.
London's Victoria Casino is also due to host the 2009 GUKPT Grand Final, which is scheduled for November 19th to 29th.
