New casino on the way for Isle of Man?

Isle of Man developer submits new plans for casino project.

Mount Murray Country Club has submitted a revised proposal for its casino development on the Isle of Man.

The company made its initial planning application for the £45.6 million project last year but has now moved the proposed location of the gambling venue to a new area on site, Isle of Man Today reports.

Measuring 31,000 sq ft, the casino is now expected to sit alongside a new 'aparthotel' with 150 self-catering rooms.

Mount Murray has already been granted planning permission to build 60 additional bedrooms at its existing 90-room hotel in the Santon parish.

Set in 200 acres of countryside, the leisure complex also contains an 18-hole championship golf course, indoor swimming pool and a luxury health and fitness club.

According to Isle of Man Today, construction of the casino and aparthotel is expected to take two years and create 50 new jobs on the island.
