Sunny Chattha wins poker tournament at West Midlands casino.
Sunny Chattha is £88,150 richer after winning the second leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) in Walsall. The 23-year-old from south London, who outlasted a field of 301 players, beat Joe Grech in heads-up play to take the first prize and secure a place at the GUKPT Champion of Champions tournament.
Chattha entered the final table as chip leader, but Grech managed to draw level and the two players began the heads-up session with almost identical chip stacks before Chattha managed to seal victory.
A member of London-based poker team the Hit Squad, Chattha has finished in the prize money on five occasions at GUKPT events.
He is the second GUKPT champion of the season, with Essex poker ace Bernard Litman triumphing at Brighton's Grosvenor Casino in January.
The GUKPT now faces less competition on the UK's live poker scene, as Gala Casinos announced the cancellation of its poker tour earlier this year.
