Mecca Bingo employee shares her thoughts on the industry's development.
A woman from Norwich has provided an insight into how bingo has changed during her two decades spent working in the industry.Ruth Lambert has witnessed several major developments in the bingo sector firsthand, having spent the last 21 years working at a Mecca Bingo venue in the Norfolk city.
Now operations manager at the club in Aylsham Road, the 56-year-old shared her thoughts on the changing face of bingo with the Norwich Evening News.
She told the newspaper: "The biggest change has been the technology. It's all moved with the times and people have the chance to play electronically now.
"There's one thing that hasn't changed though and that's peoples' passion for the game and their love of bingo clubs."
According to figures from the Bingo Association, there are 3.1 million regular bingo players in the UK, with ten per cent of women regularly taking part in the numbers game.
