Obama Set To Relax US Gambling Legislation?

Online gambling expert claims Obama will relax legislation.

Industry experts have predicted that Barack Obama will move to relax online gambling legislation in the US at some point this year.

Warwick Bartlett, lead partner at Global Betting and Gambling Consultants (GBGC), claimed that it was "not over-optimistic" to expect a major shift in online gambling laws following the election of president Obama.

With the Democrats enjoying a majority in Congress and Mr Obama still riding the wave of public opinion, Mr Bartlett said he was confident that the restrictions on internet gambling will be eased during 2009.

"The president has such public support that, at the moment, he'd be able to get almost anything through," the expert commented.

In 2007, an unsuccessful attempt to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was made by Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.

The UIGEA prohibits financial institutions in the US to handle payments from online gambling services.

This sounds like a very good thing to do. I have lots of money to spend and I know that I will get rich this way. I can then change my name to Donald Trump Nacho Libre. I need a new assault rifle too.
