Punters are backing Sir Alex Ferguson to leave Manchester United in 2010 following comments from his son Darren.The Peterborough United manager said that Ferguson is likely to quit Old Trafford at the end of next season, particularly if he achieves his target of overhauling Liverpool's record of 18 league titles.
"If they win this year then they catch Liverpool in terms of titles won. I can see him doing this year and next - and then that might be it for him," Darren commented.
Sky Bet has priced up a new sports betting market on when Ferguson will make his departure from Old Trafford, with between April and June next year the current favourite at 5/4.
People expecting the 67-year-old to leave between June and December this year can get odds of 6/1, while January to April 2010 is a 4/1 bet.
William Hill makes Inter boss Jose Mourinho the current favourite to succeed Ferguson at 5/2.
