Shorter title odds after Liverpool demolish Aston Villa.

Bookmakers have slashed their odds on Liverpool winning the Premier League following the weekend's results.

Rafa Benitez's side are enjoying a purple patch of form at the moment, with the 5-0 hammering of Aston Villa at Anfield yesterday (March 22nd) following a 4-1 victory over league leaders Manchester United.

Liverpool were 16/1 to win the title with William Hill before that match at Old Trafford, but have now been backed down to 5/2.

Odds on United, whose dip in form continued with a surprise 2-0 defeat at Fulham on Saturday, have lengthened from 1/33 to 4/11.

Meanwhile, Ladbrokes makes Sir Alex Ferguson's side 1/3 for the title and prices Liverpool at 11/4.

United remain one point clear of the Merseysiders with a game in hand, although their goal difference is now marginally inferior to their north-west rivals.

Liverpool travel to Fulham for their next Premier League game on April 4th, while United take on Aston Villa at home the following day.
