Peterborough shoppers play bingo game ahead of new TV series.

A supermarket in Peterborough was chosen as the launch venue for the new version of BingoLotto, the interactive TV bingo game.

The game has announced a new partnership with Tesco, which will distribute BingoLotto game cards before the new series of the programme begins in the summer, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reports.

Shoppers in the town have been given the opportunity to try out BingoLotto and play the game live in the store, with a variety of prizes on offer.

In addition, a percentage of revenues from the bingo game will be donated to local charities and sports clubs.

"With UK good causes already feeling the effect of the credit crunch, BingoLotto is hoping to plug the gap of the funding shortfall, by giving at least 20 per cent of all gamecard sales to good causes," a spokesperson for BingoLotto told the newspaper.

Presented by Joe Pasquale and Suzanna Shaw, the first series of BingoLotto aired on the Virgin1 channel in 2008.
