The World Series of Poker Circuit has returned to Atlantic City. This time, the event is being held at Caesars Palace, with a series of 11 tournaments planned.
The tournament events will have buy ins ranging from $200 for the Turbo No-Limit event to $5,000 for the No-Limit hold’em Championship finale.
Day one of the tournament is expected to fill all 110 tables, with some of the best talent in the world of professional poker in attendance, as well as a large number of recreational competitors.
The winner of the main event will receive a $10,000 value seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker main event which will be held at The Rio in Las Vegas later this year. They will also win some prize money for the Circuit victory. In addition, all event winners will receive a World Series of Poker ring, except for the winner of the ladies-only tournament, who will receive a pendant.
Last year the main event saw 288 competitors, and had a prize pool of more than $1.3 million. It is hoped that similar attendance will be seen at the tournament this year.
Last year’s tournament was won by Eric ‘sheets’ Haber, who took hope $431,136 in prize money for his performance.
