Mickey Rourke Signs Up To Online Poker Room

Hollywood star joins celebrity online poker tournament.

Hollywood star Mickey Rourke is set to appear as a celebrity player at online poker service doylesroom.com.

The actor, who recently claimed that he started playing poker just six months ago, will take part in the DoylesRoom Celebrity Bounty Tournament on Thursday (April 2nd).

Rourke will line up alongside rap star Eve, heiress Nicky Hilton and Sopranos actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, with a $25,000 (£17,365) cash prize on offer for the player who knocks out all three celebrities.

Poker legend Doyle Brunson, the ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, claimed in his blog that doylesroom.com is "the only poker site that could have gotten these celebrities to play in an online poker tournament".

Rourke recently made a triumphant return to cinema screens in The Wrestler, which led to a Golden Globe, Bafta award and Oscar nomination.

Heavy metal stars Scott Ian, Kirk Hammett, Vinnie Paul and Slash recently took part in a special tournament at online poker portal Ultimate Bet.
