Developers plan new bingo club in Somerset.

Former Frome nightclub to be transformed into bingo hall.

Residents of Frome could soon be getting their eyes down at a new bingo venue, it has emerged.

According to thisissomerset.co.uk, an unidentified consortium is planning to convert a former nightclub called Level One into a bingo club for the Somerset town.

The developers, who have applied to Mendip District Council for a licence to run the gaming venue, wish to remain anonymous until the launch night.

A spokesperson for the consortium told the news provider: "We've decided to open a bingo club as it is a very popular pastime and there is no real facility in Frome.

"We felt there was a gap in the market and plan to hold early evening games and afternoon sessions."

A decision on the licence is expected to be made at the end of this month, with the venue scheduled to open at some point in May.

It is likely to be called Kingsway Bingo Club and will create ten new jobs in Frome.

Meanwhile, Mecca Bingo is preparing to open its new 'super' bingo hall in Nottingham on May 14th.
