Northampton Casino Plans 24-Hour Opening

Northampton's Gala Casino could be the latest to open 24 hours a day.

The Gala Casino in Northampton could soon be offering round-the-clock gambling services, it has emerged.

With a licence for extended opening hours already secured, the operator has asked the local council for permission to keep the town centre venue open 24 hours a day, the Northampton Chronicle reports.

Company spokesperson Sarah Mercer explained that the option of 24-hour gaming would bring the Northampton casino in line with many of Gala's other venues around the UK.

"We want to offer the same service to people in Northampton that we currently offer in 18 of our other casinos across the country," she told the newspaper.

"It will also offer our management more flexibility and offer the same facilities to our customers whether they're in Aberdeen or Northampton."

Gala's Aberdeen venue was given the green light to stay open around the clock in March, while the Gala Casino in London's Tottenham Court Road became the first venue in the capital to offer 24-hour gaming in January last year.
