Charity poker tournament will take place at Los Angeles casino.
Jason Alexander is set to host a celebrity poker tournament to raise money for domestic violence victims in Los Angeles next month.The 49-year-old actor, best known for playing George Costanza in the award-winning US sitcom Seinfeld, is also a keen poker player who was recently signed up by PokerStars.
Alexander will use his showbusiness connections to benefit the 1736 Family Crisis Centre, the largest domestic violence charity in Los Angeles, with a special poker event on May 9th.
Taking place at the Hollywood Park Casino, the Texas hold'em tournament will offer a first prize of $10,000 (£6,715), with the buy-in set at $250.
Top US poker pros such as Greg Raymer, Jamie Gold and Chip Jett have already signed up for the event and a number of "Hollywood celebrities" are also expected to take part.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the 1736 Family Crisis Centre.
Alexander has previously appeared in the World Series of Poker main event and Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown.
