Super Bingo Venue On The Way In Nottingham

Bingo operator plans to launch 'super' entertainment venue in May.

Mecca Bingo is set to open a major new gaming complex in the Beeston area of Nottingham next month.

The company hopes to boost the local nightlife by launching a £5.5 million 'super' bingo venue with live entertainment, touch-screen bingo games and a separate bar and eating area, the Nottingham Evening Post reports.

According to the newspaper, the venue will be "the first of its kind in the UK".

A spokesperson for Mecca explained: "We aren't really thinking of it as a bingo hall. It's so much more than that. It is a leisure venue."

She said that the complex will aim to attract traditional numbers game fans as well as a younger clientele, with social networking websites used to promote the bingo centre.

"We will be monitoring the success of it and looking to build others across the country," she added.

The new venue is due to open its doors on May 14th.

Mecca Bingo recently launched a series of new 'Vegas-style' online slot machines, including Monopoly, Cluedo and Wheel of Fortune.
