Mobile casino firm puts Nokia device at top of the tree for gambling services.
A Nokia smartphone has been named as the top device for mobile gambling services by Probability. The mobile gaming firm published its latest chart of the top ten handsets in the industry this week, based on registrations at its mobile casinos during the first three months of the year.
According to the data, over 5,000 models were used by gamers during that period but the Nokia N95 came out on top, seeing off competition from Samsung and Sony Ericsson devices.
The Nokia handset also beat Apple's iPhone, which did not even feature in the top ten.
"There really is a broadly-based market for mobile gambling and it's not just the latest gadgets that [gaming companies] should be targeting," commented Probability's chief executive Charles Cohen.
"This chart shows that consumers who own feature-rich phones are using them for more than playing Tetris and updating Facebook," he added.
Samsung's SGH F480 handset took second place, while the Sony Ericsson K800i fell from first to third.
Rick Brownlow of gaming firm Mfuse recently claimed that sports betting represents the main growth market for mobile gambling operators.
