New triathlon-style event features poker alongside pool and mixed martial arts.
Poker players with a talent for pool and mixed martial arts may be interested in a new entertainment format currently being developed in the US.Pool, Poker and Pain is an upcoming reality television show which aims to combine "the three hottest sports on the planet" to create a new contest of skill and endurance.
According to the creators, participants will face each other at the pool table before progressing to a game of poker and then finishing in the Circle of Truth, a 32-foot cage which hosts mixed martial arts combat.

Commenting on the format, the Guardian's Marina Hyde has described it as "a sort of postmodern triathlon that appears designed to represent the skills today's youngish male might need on a night out".
The Pool, Poker and Pain website lists a number of contestants set to take part in the event, including Tony 'The Sniper' Cosby, Tommy 'Guns' Hernandez and George 'Double Payne' Pain.
