Slough council wants views on casino gaming

Slough residents asked by council to contribute to discussion over casino policy.

The local authority in Slough has asked residents to give their views on the prospect of a casino in the town.

Slough Borough Council adopted a 'no casino' stance in 2006, but the policy is now up for review and local people have been invited to share their opinions by post or online.

The feedback will help to determine whether the council implements another three-year ban on casinos or considers allowing a gambling venue to be built in the Berkshire town.

Addressing Slough residents, councillor Shafiq Chaudhry said: "Everyone has an opinion about gambling and now is your chance to have your say.

"Let us know whether you think a casino should be allowed in Slough or if you are opposed to it. Your view counts."

The public consultation will be open until Tuesday May 26th.

Existing gaming venues in Berkshire include Reading's Maxims Casino, which offers five blackjack tables, ten roulette tables and 32 electronic roulette terminals.
