Sports betting firms looking forward to bumper FA Cup final turnover.
With the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Everton fast approaching, British bookmakers are preparing themselves for the second major football betting event of the week. The game at Wembley on Saturday (May 30th) comes just three days after the Champions League final, which gave sports betting firms a turnover of more than £10 million.
According to William Hill, the FA Cup final is expected to prompt a similar level of betting activity and could even produce a greater turnover than Wednesday night's European showdown between Barcelona and Manchester United.
"With high rollers likely to steam in to back Chelsea - we've already taken one bet of £20,000 for them - and the majority of neutrals probably siding with underdogs Everton, we are anticipating another betting bonanza," said William Hill spokesperson Graham Sharpe.
The bookmaker makes Chelsea 2/5 to win the FA Cup in Guus Hiddink's final game in charge, while Everton are a 15/8 bet.
Meanwhile, Sky Bet offers 7/1 on the game being goalless after 90 minutes and makes Everton 12/1 to win after a penalty shootout.
