Sports betting firms offer wagers on Michael Owen's next move.
Rumours of Michael Owen's impending retirement have created new sports betting markets on the Newcastle United striker.Although Magpies boss Alan Shearer was quick to dismiss claims that his former England team-mate is set to quit football, Owen is out of contract with Newcastle at the end of the season and his future remains uncertain.
William Hill is taking bets on which club the 29-year-old will be playing for at the start of next season, with Everton the current favourite at 9/4 and Manchester City an 11/4 bet.
Punters expecting Owen to stay at Newcastle can get odds of 10/3 and a move to Aston Villa is priced at 12/1.
The former Liverpool striker has struggled to find his form after returning from injury this season and is without a goal since January 10th.
He joined Newcastle from Real Madrid for a club record fee of £16 million in August 2005.
