Wembley hosts play-off finals this weekend.

Sports betting market created for clubs promoted from the play-offs.

Three more Football League sides will be celebrating promotion over the bank holiday weekend, as the Championship, League One and League Two Play-Off finals take place at Wembley.

However, punters who expect the joy of moving up a division to be short-lived for the promoted clubs can get odds of 14/1 on all three teams going straight back down with William Hill.

The sports betting firm also offers 7/2 that all three playoff winners manage to stay up next season.

"Promotion via the playoffs can be a double-edged sword, with the euphoria disappearing quickly as the reality of life in a higher division kicks in from day one," commented Graham Sharpe, spokesperson for William Hill.

Gillingham face Shrewsbury in the League Two Play-off final on Saturday (May 23rd), with Millwall taking on Scunthorpe United in the League One event on Sunday and Burnley playing Sheffield United to decide the final promotion place from the Championship on Monday.
