Alea Casino manager explains why the venue would be suitable for new gaming licence.
The club director at the Alea Casino in Leeds hopes that his venue will be considered for the Yorkshire city's large casino licence.Leeds is one of the eight UK locations to receive permission for a major new gambling centre, with Tommy Gibbons claiming that Alea would be the best developer to handle the licence.
He told thebusinessdesk.com that the casino, which opened in late 2008, is likely to submit a formal application for the licence early next year.
"This facility was built with the casino licence in mind. It would be a very attractive proposition for us and it would be very attractive for Clarence Dock," Mr Gibbons told the website.
"Leeds is a great city but it wants to get itself out there because it's still lagging behind other major cities," he added.
Spread over 50,000 sq ft, the Alea Casino in Leeds features two gaming floors, a private gambling suite and two restaurants.
Alea also operates gaming venues in Nottingham and Glasgow.
