An unidentified black male has robbed a Roanoke Rapids bingo hall of some stale food. The man entered the bingo hall at around 2 AM, and waved a gun in the air as he headed to the bingo hall's office, where he grabbed a black bag. Chief Jeff Hinto of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said that it is unknown if the robber opened the bag before he left the bingo hall, but it is thought that the robber expected the bag to contain money, rather than stale food.
The robber quickly fled the scene, and was last spotted on foot at the rear of the bingo hall.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office sent out a canine unit to search the area, but have so far not managed to track down the robber.
The man has been described as standing approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was wearing a black ski-mask, a long sleeved black shirt, black pants, and black boots.
