Online casino operator signs two-year sponsorship deal with Swansea City.

Swansea City have unveiled online casino operator 32Red as the Championship club's new shirt sponsor.

The gambling firm, which previously sponsored Premier League outfit Aston Villa from 2006 to 2008, has signed a two-year deal with the south Wales side.

Thought to involve a six-figure sum, the agreement represents the biggest sponsorship deal in Swansea's history and was welcomed by the club's vice chairman Leigh Dineen.

He commented: "There were some very interesting discussions over the course of last season, but 32Red was without doubt the best deal for us.

"32Red were talking to a number of other football clubs, including some in the Premier League, about shirt sponsorship, but we are delighted to become their chosen partners in football."

The casino firm will take over from the club's previous sponsor Swansea.com, the local tourism website.

Swansea finished eighth in the Championship last season, six points away from a place in the playoffs.
