Las Vegas casinos welcome Cristiano Ronaldo, who is set to become the world's most expensive footballer this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo has headed to the gambling capital of the US as his high-profile summer holiday continues.

The 24-year-old football star, who is set to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid in a record-breaking £80 million transfer this summer, hit the headlines for reportedly romancing Paris Hilton in Los Angeles last week.

After leaving the west coast, he travelled to Las Vegas and checked in to the Wynn Hotel and Casino, one of the city's most exclusive resorts, according to the Daily Mirror.

Ronaldo is yet to be seen at the blackjack or roulette tables in Vegas, although he did enjoy a night out at the Rain nightclub of the Palms Hotel & Casino over the weekend.

Nevada's casino capital seems to be emerging as the holiday destination of choice for top-flight footballers, as Chelsea star Frank Lampard is also said to be planning a trip to Vegas.

Earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported that Lampard is lining up a stay at the Wynn Hotel and Casino with former team-mates Shaun Wright-Phillips and Wayne Bridge.
