Bookmakers prepare for busy summer of Big Brother betting.
The UK's bookmakers are anticipating a busy summer as the new series of Big Brother gets underway this week.Davina McCall is set to introduce this year's 16 contestants tonight (June 4th) and the show will run until early September, Channel 4 has said.
William Hill is expecting the betting industry's turnover to surpass £15 million for the reality TV favourite, which offers a £100,000 prize for the winner and is now in its tenth year.
"Due to the length of the run, Big Brother is by far the most popular of all the reality shows," explained spokesperson for the bookmaker Rupert Adams.
"The most popular bet is the weekly eviction, with an industry turnover regularly topping the £1 million mark," he added.
William Hill is currently offering 7/1 on a housemate walking out within the first 24 hours and gives odds of 6/1 on the series being taken off air before the end of its run.
