Tevez transfer rumours lead to activity in sports betting markets.
Carlos Tevez could be on his way back to London this summer, according to the latest sports betting markets. The Argentine striker's loan spell at Manchester United is coming to an end and initial reports indicated that Liverpool or Manchester City were the most likely to become his next club, although there is also a possibility of Tevez staying at Old Trafford.
However, William Hill now makes Chelsea the 6/4 favourites to sign Tevez following reports that new manager Carlo Ancelotti recently called the player personally to discuss a transfer.
"There is no money for Tevez to stay at United so we are taking that to suggest that he will be elsewhere by next season and reckon that Chelsea is his most likely destination," said Graham Sharpe, spokesperson for the bookmaker.
United are now 11/4 with William Hill to be Tevez's club at the start of the 2009-10 season, with City priced at 3/1 and Liverpool an 8/1 bet.
The 25-year-old spent a season in the capital with West Ham United in 2006-07, scoring seven goals in 26 appearances.
