Poker players expected to head to Walsall casino for Grosvenor's Summer Series event.
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) heads to the West Midlands later this week, with the third and final Summer Series event getting underway in Walsall.Taking place from Thursday June 25th to Sunday June 28th, the mini-festival will feature three separate tournaments for poker players at Walsall's Grosvenor Casino.
Following no-limit hold'em freeze-out tournaments with buy-ins of £200 and £300, the £500 main event will begin on Saturday and participants will start with 10,000 chips.
The second leg of the GUKPT Summer Series reached its conclusion in Aberdeen last Sunday, when retired accountant John Angus beat Orkney fisherman Pete Thomas heads-up to win £7,870 in the main event.
Although the tournament was a relatively modest affair with just 42 players contesting the main event, it did make history as the first ever GUKPT event to take place in Scotland.
After Walsall, the tour resumes with event number six in Luton from August 1st to 9th.
