Film tells the story of six bingo players in search of a major jackpot.
A new film from the US is set to take the drama of the bingo hall to cinema audiences around the world.Bingo Confidential tells the story of a group of experienced numbers game players trying to get their hands on a jackpot of $1 million (£610,000).
This is no ordinary bingo session, however, as the money has been left as inheritance by their deceased friend Lois Huckabee, who specifies in her will that it should be awarded to the winner of the game.
According to the Daily Mirror: "Each of the characters in Bingo Confidential has their own story to tell and each is desperate to win the big prize."
The film features a cast of quirky characters, including a former bingo caller from the UK and a woman in the witness protection programme, united by a competitive streak when playing bingo.
Film-maker Susan Benfatto was inspired to create the movie after realising how popular the game is during a visit to her local church bingo session in the US.
Other films exploring the world of bingo include 1999's King of the Bingo Game, a drama set in Depression-era New York.
