Team 888 have had a good start at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker this year. The Day 1 events (which were spread over four days, as the field was so large) have concluded, and Team 888 are performing well.

This year, 6,494 players have joined in the World Series of Poker, and the main event’s total prize pool stands at a staggering $61,043,600. The winner will get $8,548,435 – that’s more prize money than many poker pros have earned in their entire tournament career! There will be 648 players taking home a cash prize of some kind.

Team 888 consists of 22 players from all over the world, including Germany, Denmark, the UK, Australia, Russia, Spain, and Sweden. The sponsored pros Shane Warne, Jeff Fenech, Michael Keiner, and Leo Margets were a part of the team. Out of the 22 players on the team, 17 have passed Day 1, and will be returning for Day 2 (which will actually run over two days).

Shane Warne put up the strongest performance out of Team 888, and has an impressive 87,625 chips, also performing well are Denmark’s Skellaridis Anders (on 68,300 chips), and Argenina’s Fernando Gord, on 64,650 chips.

Team 888 are hoping that the majority of their players will reach Day 3, which is when it is expected that people will get in the money.
