The World Series of Poker H.O.R.S.E tournament, also known as Event 49, continued. The early stages of this $50,000 buy-in tournament have seen several big names fall by the wayside, including Alex Kravchenko, Barry Greenstein, Doyle Brunson, Gus Hansen, Tony G, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Greg Raymer, Thor Hansen, Bill Chen, Matt Glantz, and 2008 H.O.R.S.E winner Scotty Nguyen.

The final table still sees some big names, however. Gus Hansen was eliminated in 9th place, making the final table consist of Erik Sagstron, David Bach, Vitaly Lunkin, John Hanson, Huck Seed, Ville Wahlbeck, Erik Seidel, and Chau Giang.

Final table play is due to resume soon, and the eventual winner will earn not only a bracelet for defeating 94 other players, but a prize of $1,276,606 out of the total prize pool of $4,560,000.

The chip leader is currently Erik Sagstrom, an online poker pro from Sweden who may be better known by his online user name of Erik123. Sagstrom has 3,675,000 in chips – a lead of more than a million over his closest competitor, Vitaly Lunkin. Lunkin holds 2,490,000. The short stack is Ville Wahlbeck, who holds just 645,000. Wahlbeck and Lunkin have both already taken one bracelet in the World Series of Poker this year.
