Charity evening at Somerset hotel uses casino games to raise money.
Charity fundraisers in Somerset recently used the glitz and glamour of casino gambling to generate money for CLIC Sargent.The Crossways Hotel in North Wootton was transformed into a makeshift Casino Royale for the event, which raised a total of £900 for the children's cancer charity, thisissomerset.co.uk reports.
Many local businesses joined in by donating prizes for the casino evening, although hotel manager Tanya AmbrosiniMajor explained that games of roulette and blackjack were not the only source of fundraising activity.
"The highlight of the evening was an impromptu salsa dance which raised more than £100," she told the news provider.
"Due to the success of the event, we will be holding a second casino night in the new year."
North-east women Victoria Thompson and Helen Stephens recently organised a casino night to generate money for a forthcoming charity expedition to Morocco, raising £1,500 at Hedworth Hall in South Shields.
