Rank Group acquired the Coventry casino from Isle of Capri earlier this year.
Work on a £1.6 million refurbishment project at the Ricoh Arena casino in Coventry is now underway.Formerly owned by US casino operator Isle of Capri, the gambling venue will be officially relaunched under the Rank Group's G Casino banner later this year.
According to the Coventry Telegraph, the gaming floor, restaurant and sports bar areas are being completely redesigned, while new general manager Paul Davies has been brought in to oversee the changes.
"Grosvenor Casinos has invested £1.6 million in the G Casino and there is no doubt that this is unlike any other casino in the UK," he told the newspaper.
"We have started to make a few subtle improvements, such as changing the design of the gaming floor to improve the flow for customers and we have altered the layout of the sports bar so it is no longer open plan," the 46-year-old added.
The Coventry venue, which has become the eighth G Casino and the first located in the Midlands, currently features a 120-seat poker room and a selection of £4,000 jackpot slot machines.
Isle of Capri launched the casino in 2007 and sold it to Rank in April this year.
