Three poker tournaments will raise money for the Fallen Officers Foundation.

Poker star Phil Hellmuth will host a special tournament to raise money for charity later this year.

The Hold'em For Heroes event is set to take place from November 19th to 21st at the Fort McDowell Casino in Arizona, with the proceeds going towards families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Last year, the event raised $500,000 (£306,374) and 11-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet-winner Hellmuth will be hoping to generate even more money this time around.

He said: "Over the last several years and especially since 9/11, my respect for policemen, firemen and the people who protect us has risen higher and higher.

"Our Hold'em for Heroes charity poker tournament gives money to the Fallen Officers Foundation, which supports officers and the families of officers who were killed in the line of duty."

The poker event will be split into three tournaments, with a $115 buy-in taking place on November 19th, a $265 buy-in scheduled for the following day and a high-roller event with a $1,000 buy-in closing proceedings.

Hellmuth recently used his Twitter page to reveal that he is set to make appearances on the reality TV shows Shaq Vs and Gene Simmons Family Jewels this year.
