Reports of poker movie set in Puerto Rico follow the news that Rounders 2 could see the light of day.
US rapper 50 Cent has been signed up to appear in a new film set in the world of professional poker, it has been claimed.According to a report on terra.com, the rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - will feature alongside Oscar-winning actor Benicio Del Toro and popular Puerto Rican musicians Wisin and Yandel in the film.
David Maldonado, who co-produced the Jennifer Lopez film El Cantante in 2006, is set to direct the movie and filming will take place in Puerto Rico.
50 Cent made his film debut in 2005's Get Rich or Die Tryin' and is also due to appear in 13, a remake of the French film 13 Tzameti due out next year.
The project is one of several new poker films thought to be in the pipeline, with Matt Damon recently fuelling speculation that a sequel to the much-loved Rounders could be on the way.
Damon, who starred alongside Edward Norton in the 1998 film, told pokerlistings.com that the original cast and crew would be keen to reunite for a sequel if a good script materialises.
In addition, original scriptwriter David Levien has confirmed that he and writing partner Brian Koppleman have been working on ideas for Rounders 2.
