Sports betting operator has signed a new sponsorship agreement with Malaga.
William Hill is set to boost its profile in Spain after signing a shirt sponsorship deal with Malaga CF.The bookmaker's logo will be emblazoned on the Andalusian club's shirts for the next three seasons, with additional William Hill branding set to appear at the team's home stadium, La Roseleda.
Last month, the firm announced plans to move its online sports betting operations from the UK to Gibraltar.
"Malaga is the closest La Liga club to our business base in Gibraltar and we really wanted to be involved with a club that we could support both from a business perspective and in person to share the passion that La Liga generates," explained William Hill's chief executive officer Henry Birch.
"As well as the huge Spanish fan base on the coast, we know that Malaga also has a huge expatriate following in this part of the country," he added.
Club president Fernando Sanz said that the sponsorship deal will help Malaga to go "up one step" in its relationship with members of the British expatriate community on the Costa del Sol.
Malaga began the new season with a 3-0 home victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday (August 30th).
