Casinos in the Caribbean are set to become more popular with British travellers, according to holiday experts.
The Caribbean is fast emerging as an international hotspot for holidaymakers who live to combine casino gambling with their beach breaks, it has been claimed.According to travel industry website ttglive.com, the number of tour providers promoting casino-themed holidays in the Caribbean to British consumers is set to increase significantly.
The largest gambling resort in the region is currently the Atlantis Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, where visitors have access to 1,000 slot machines and 78 live gaming tables.
In addition, the Dominican Republic boasts the largest concentration of casinos in the Caribbean and there are several popular gambling venues on southern islands such as Aruba and Curacao.
The ttglive.com report states: "It might not rival Vegas for size and quantity of casinos, but it does offer a beautiful setting and the chance to combine gambling with some beach time."
Each January the Atlantis Casino hosts the European Poker Tour's PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which last year attracted a field of 1,347 players for its main event.
