Bingo fans encouraged to try a different version of the game

London event combines bingo with music and dancing for a new experience.

People looking for a bingo night with a difference have been urged to visit the Royal National Theatre on London's South Bank this month.

Taking place every Saturday night, Musical Bingo is a special version of the traditional game in which players cross off songs instead of numbers on their card.

Featuring a variety of music provided by DJs Helix, Rapture and Jonny Unknown, the event forms part of Watch This Space, the National Theatre's summer festival.

Developed by London's 'DIY disco' organisers Bring & Share, Musical Bingo started life at the Lock Tavern in Camden Town in 2007 and now appears at venues across the capital.

According to Bring & Share, those attending a Musical Bingo night can expect to find the resident DJs "ditching numbers and replacing them with top tunes".

Earlier this year, Leeds resident Mark Walsh developed a similar game known as Rock and Roll Bingo, which uses classic rock songs and artists instead of bingo numbers.
